On July 29, 2023, members of the WICA (Wimbum Canada) Quebec Chapter gathered for a chapter meeting that also marked a special cultural milestone for the community. The meeting provided an opportunity for members to connect, discuss chapter activities, and strengthen the bonds that unite the Wimbum community in Quebec.
A highlight of the gathering was the inauguration of the Njuh uniform, an important symbol of Wimbum cultural identity and tradition. The presentation of the uniform was a moment of pride for members, reflecting the community’s continued commitment to preserving and celebrating Wimbum heritage even while living in the diaspora.
The inauguration also served as a reminder of the importance of cultural symbols in maintaining a sense of belonging and continuity across generations. Through initiatives like this, the Quebec Chapter continues to play an active role in promoting Wimbum culture and fostering unity among members.
The event concluded in a spirit of fellowship and cultural pride, reinforcing WICA’s mission of bringing together Wimbum people in Canada while preserving and promoting their rich cultural heritage.
