Past Grants and Funded Projects
WICA (Wimbum Canada) has successfully secured funding from government and community partners to strengthen our programs, support our members, and build the capacity of our organization.
Supporting Black Canadian Communities
Funded by: Government of Canada
Project Period: 2021–2022
Through this program, WICA received funding to strengthen our operational capacity and support cultural programming. The project enabled the organization to acquire essential equipment such as laptops, office equipment, cultural instruments, event kitchenware, a sound system, and a projector. These resources continue to support community meetings, cultural activities, and youth programs.
Digital Optimization Project
Funded by: Tropicana Community Services
Project Period: 2022–2023
This project helped modernize WICA’s digital infrastructure and improve engagement among members across Canada. Activities included redesigning the organization’s website, implementing digital collaboration tools, providing access to online training platforms, and supporting youth-led initiatives such as social media content and a community podcast series.
These projects have helped WICA strengthen its ability to serve the community, promote Wimbum culture, and expand opportunities for youth and members across Canada.
